CLUBS

Academic Team: This team studies rigorously all year for one full day of competition ,
where participants are quizzed in a variety of areas and can earn medals. If you are
interested in becoming a member speak to Mr. Lunetta.

Environmental Club: Discusses the awareness of environmental issues at the local,
state and international levels, contact Mrs. Russo or Mrs. Wear

E.R.A.S.E. (End Racism and Sexism Everywhere Club): Participants of this club are
committed to ending racism and sexism by discussing these issues in meetings and
informing the student body. You can join the E.R.A.S.E. club by contacting Mr. Martorana
or Mrs. Ponos.

Forensics and Debate Society: This award-winning team is made up of members who
compete in the speech and and/or debate category. Tournaments occur 2 Saturdays a
month. If interested, contact Ms. Rogers.

FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America): This club is designed to educate its
members about business and teach them about business as a career. To join, contact Mrs. Klinck.

Health Career Club: Those interested in a health career may consider joining this club
which meets monthly to discuss opportunities and careers in health care. If interested,
contact Ms. Lisa Marino, the school nurse.

Home and Consumer Economics Club (Future Homemakers of America): This club meets
monthly to explore careers, learn new skills, and participate in service projects. Contact Mrs. Hovanec.

The Hornet's Sting: This literary magazine, compiled and organized by its members, is
published at the end of the school year and is composed of poetry, prose and artwork
produced by HP students. Contact Mr. Martorana

International Club: Each month, members learn about a new country and its culture.
Interested people contact Mrs. Ponos.

Key Club: This organization seeks to help the community through volunteer activities,
such as sorting food at the food bank, helping autistic children at the allegro School,
and spending time with senior citizens. Embark on an adventure to serve others by
speaking to Mrs. Walsh.

Mock Trial Team: The mock trial team spends nearly three months preparing for
their competitions where they simulate an actual trial against other schools. To try
out for this team, see Mr. Cuff.

National Honor Society: Juniors and seniors who meet the requirements of scholarship,
leadership, character, and service may be invited to join the society. See Mrs. Jessica Baxter.

Peer Counseling: Students may apply to be a Peer Counselor in September of their Junior year. Selected students will receive their training during their junior year with follow up sessions throughout their senior year. If interested, see Mrs. Ford or Mrs. Mitchell for more information

Varsity Club: Athletic club for varsity winners. Club financially supports athletic program.
